OraINS/WWWIns – A centralised system
The integrated insurance information system OraINS/WWWIns is built on a centralized principle, which allows for easy management of the system, access rights to functions and data, and facilitated improvement and modification of the system's operation when necessary. The centralized system principle reduces the equipment requirements on the ground and allows flexible and easy management of the hierarchical structure of the insurance company. Additionally, the need for dedicated field staff is reduced as the operations performed to service the system (start, end of day, accruals, backups, etc.) are performed solely at the insurance company's Central Office. The level of operational security of the insurance company's information system is enhanced because the centralized system server is complete with reliable devices to ensure the operability of the hardware, and the OraINS/WWWIns Client applications used in the field do not store operational data, and in the event of a power outage or communication link failure, the system is protected from data loss.
OraINS/WWWIns – A modular system
The OraINS/WWWIns integrated insurance information system is built on a modular principle that allows easy management of the system functions used. If necessary, any new module of the system can be easily added to the insurance system while maintaining the common processing logic and uniform data management. Each installed system module can be used by all users in your insurance company's system, and responsible employees in the company's Central Management can manage individual or group access to the modules' functions and data. Employees from the insurance company's divisions responsible for the relevant sectors within the division are able to analyse, via the module's reporting functions, the activities of their structure (within the company's division), increasing the ability to control and evaluate each specific activity. The modular design principle of the system facilitates the integration (through the development of appropriate data interfaces) of the OraINS/WWWIns system with other systems operating in the insurance company.
OraINS/WWWIns – An integrated system
The OraINS/WWWIns integrated insurance information system, regardless of the modular construction principle, is an integrated system. The integration principle is implemented with common procedures for all modules: service procedures (start and end of day, archiving, currency revaluation, accruals, etc.), common parameters (exchange rates, tariffs, etc.) and common data registers in which data from the modules are integrated. The integrated data of the system allows a comprehensive evaluation and analysis of your insurance company's activity, even though the data is created and processed through different modules of the system. The ability to analyse activity parameters on a global basis increases the efficiency and competitiveness of your insurance company's operational management.
OraINS/WWWIns – An individual system
The OraINS/WWWIns integrated insurance information system, despite its universal architecture, after the process of customisation and localisation will contain all the individual features, requirements and advantages of the insurance technology implemented in your insurance company. The fact that the SYS Consulting Ltd. team has been working successfully with a number of insurance companies for many years and the knowledge of our specialists about a significant number of individual insurance information technologies required by individual companies allows us to quickly and successfully incorporate the specifics into an OraINS/WWWIns system. The presence of the aforementioned specific features in an OraINS/WWWIns system, and the ability for the developers to continually improve the system, defines the proposed system as very much a custom–made system for your insurance company.
OraINS/WWWIns – A multilingual system
OraINS/WWWIns offers the possibility of multilingual operation by associating each user of the system with one of the declared languages. The main language of the system is Bulgarian. A set of texts in the defined languages is supported for each menu item, for all screen captions and for all system messages. When the user language setting is changed, all texts are replaced with those in the declared language. Due to the specifics of the Windows operating system, it is possible to simultaneously support languages using different varieties of the Latin alphabet and one language with a specific code table, e.g. Cyrillic, on the same workstation. It is not possible to simultaneously support Cyrillic and Greek or Arabic alphabets on the same workstation. The translation of texts can be done from Bulgarian or from English. Texts in printed forms are in the language in which they were created. The data in the individual fields are also in the language in which they are entered.
Integrity
The OraINS/WWWIns system offers unity between systems in all divisions and units of the insurance company, avoiding multiple data entry. The product reduces the possibility of inaccuracies, miscalculations and erroneous accounting transactions through a standardized operating and accounting methodology that insurance company management forces users to follow.
The OraINS/WWWIns system, regardless of its modular construction principle, is an integrated system. The integrated principle is implemented with common procedures for all modules: service procedures (start and end of day, archiving, revaluation, etc.), common parameters (exchange rates, tariffs, etc.) and common data registers into which data from the modules are integrated.
The OraINS/WWWIns system includes both modules for the automation of core insurance activities – acquisition and liquidation – and modules and technologies commonly associated with ERP systems, such as Long–term Assets, Inventory, Invoicing and VAT reporting, Human Resources Management, etc.
Option for continuous 24/7 operation
The OraINS/WWWIns system provides uninterrupted operation capability since all procedures related to system management can be performed during normal system operation without requiring an exclusive mode of operation.
Management of graphical information
The OraINS/WWWIns system provides the ability to store graphical information (photos, scanned documents, etc.) in the same database as other information, and to enter, display and verify graphical information in the same client application.
The graphical information can be linked to the customer's file as well as to various policies, claims, etc.
Disclosure mechanism
The OraINS/WWWIns system has a mechanism for notifying a specified group of persons (employees, customers, managers) of upcoming or already occurred events via SMS and/or e–mail.
Full log information
The logical architecture of the OraINS/WWWIns system built on I/O queues not only significantly reduces the hardware requirements, but also provides a natural mechanism by which any action or operation allowed to the user is recorded in a complete log of requests sent to the system, which can be easily monitored preventively or subsequently. A similar log is maintained for responses to queries sent, including information extracted from the database when a request is made to produce a report form.
Document system
The internal organisation of data in the OraINS/WWWIns system is based on an electronic document system in which all information records (customers, policies, claims, fixed asset accruals, etc.) are represented as a set of electronic records valid at a specific point in time. All changes to these are stored in parallel, in the form of electronic annexes, together with supporting information on the date, time and operator who made the change.
This mechanism allows authorised persons to analyse all the data at a certain previous point in time, as they were at that time.
High productivity
The logical architecture of the OraINS/WWWIns system created by input/output queues and parallel/sequential processing of the queries within them dramatically reduces the requirements on the database server parameters, since the number of connections to the database is fixed in advance and the OraINS/WWWIns Communication Server performs the function of a multiplexing device. In the conventional approach, each user opens more than one connections to the database and the requirements on the server parameters increase accordingly.
Preservation of investments
The OraINS/WWWIns system is built on popular and widely available platforms supported by a large number of hardware manufacturers, and as data volumes and user numbers grow, without the need to replace the information system, simply by replacing one or other hardware component, the OraINS/WWWIns system is enabled to meet the increased demands. If there is a need to increase the performance of the system, and subject to a detailed workload analysis, the following development options are possible: (a) Increase the performance of the Oracle RDBMS server by using, depending on the workload, more powerful and/or multiprocessor hardware platforms; (b) Increase the performance of the OraINS/WWWIns Communication Server by using, depending on the workload, multiple servers to process user requests. The availability of a significant number of options to enhance the performance of the OraINS/WWWIns system allows the Bank's IT team the flexibility to scale the chosen solution.
